Very disappointed after our experience with what should have been a treat Sunday takeaway. When placing our order I was asked to pay by cash. The order was ready for collection at the agreed time. Problem arose when paying and trying to get our change. Over the evening the bill amount changed x3. The server when queried by another Nazma employ said we had given him £20 less than we had. Though the food was good will definitly NOT be going back and would encourage others to be VERY careful when paying.

Have ordered takeaway many times and eaten in here before. Food always great service good always very friendly. 1st time using the online ordering very easy to do and ready at the time I asked for, definitely recommend.

We’ve been regular customers of Nazma since moving to Ellon over 10 years ago. The food is consistently good, much better than any of the equivalents in the area.
The service I received this evening was a complete let down. I ordered online and per attached picture was advised collection could be in 30 mins. I arrived 5 mins ahead of the 30 mins scheduled time then proceeded to wait for an hour before getting my order. Despite the occasional reassurance that the food would be ready in “a few minutes”, no real apology was offered from the restaurant. Really, really disappointing experience tonight. I pay the higher, expensive food pricing because the food is good but I refuse to pay for poor service.

We had the platter starters which was amazing presentation and delicious. We then had mains of 5 different curries with mushroom and rainbow rice. This is by far the best Indian in the north east we have been to and will most definitely be back monthly. The service was spectacular we did not have to wait longer than even a few minutes for anything. 10/10 service and food and will be back very soon!

This place is very good for people that live locally and the food tastes very nice my favourite dish is the chicken coma with coconut rice and I Specially like the staff That are very helpful for when it comes to me my brother and wheelchairs the access is great.

The restaurant was recommended during our Ellon visit and we were not disappointed. It was suggested that we should share a starter plate and order the main course. This worked out well. The food was excellent and we were looked after very well. The owner was cheerful and chatty. A pleasant evening.

After eating portuguse Indians for the last 10 years with no flavours
Had this indian in the nazma was yummy .
Starter we had onion bhaji
And lamb shish kebab.
Main course south Indian garlic chilly chichen .
Lamb rogan josh
Special fried rice
And garlic naan
Best romantic josh I've had in a long time .
And my husband south Indian garlic chilly was hotter than he remembered but yummy

Exceptional food and wonderful service as always at the Nazma. I used to go to the Nazma on Bridge Street in Aberdeen and was disappointed when they closed, but delighted that the Ellon restaurant is still open. Lovely people and lovely food.

We keep coming back for the excellent food and warm, friendly service. It is easy to book a table online. The decor is more modern than most similar establishments, which we like. We only had a main course each with one rice, one naan and one side between us and could not quite manage to finish it all!

Been a customer of Nazma for years used to use there Inverurie branch which closed but now travel a round trip of 68 miles to Ellon can't say anymore as to how good there food is..

First time I've tried the food here and it was excellent. Sometimes I find if you order in the week the food is not as good as the weekends but even on a Tuesday the food was great 😋

Bought a take-away rather than dining in the restaurant, so cannot comment on atmosphere. The food was absolutely excellent and the portions were generous. We even had three poppadom sauces thrown in to our order for free. The meal was ready exactly at the time I said I wanted to collect it. Price was decent too and the service was friendly and courteous. I did find the online ordering a bit of a challenge, until I worked out how to use it, so in future, I reckon I will just phone in an order.

We haven't booked a table, and we just walked in they have a table available for us.. ordered papadoms to share and two main courses: King prawn biriyani and a chicken korma.. the food was served piping hot, service is really good my only complaint are my prawn was overcooked and not much ventilation as when U go out your clothes will smells like your food 🤭😄 .. the food is delicious, can recommend, and would come back again .

Stopped in by Ellon for food heading back home from Dyce. Didn't have a reservation and was hoping being mid week there would be a table for two. (Recommend reservation for the weekend) We were welcomed and taken to our table.
The menus were given and we were asked if we required drinks. I always have Cobra beer, I wasn't disappointed a large and extremely cold bottle was given, heaven! We were asked if we required poppadoms, as we weren't having starters we said yes. Two large poppadoms were served with yoghurt, onions and mango chutney which were very tasty. For the main courses we ordered a North Bengal Fruity chicken which was a mild fruity dish, with pilau rice. A very tasty dish not too sweet! The other main was a Bengal King Prawn Biryani which was also very nice and tasty which I asked not to make it too spicy. We didn't have any desserts on this occasion, but maybe on our next visit. We would recommend giving this restaurant a try if you are an Indian food lover or someone who wants to give it a try.

This restaurant is absolutely an amazing place. my brother had a spiced lamb biryani and he has said it is the best one he has had. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender.
I had a spiced korma and it was fantastic, probably the best one l've had in years.
my dad is from Birmingham and he reckons that this was the best curry he has ever had too, we will be visiting again with more family.

Food always great accompanied with excellent service and well worth the trip to Ellon.
Gutted when Bridge street Nazma closed as I'd been a customer over 25 years - nearly every week andostly twice a week.

Ordered online for pick up, food was tasty but Madras was definitely not a standard Madras nor was it spicy even though we specifically asked for it to be extra spicy.
They also made a point of asking us not use their website for pickup orders, not a criticism just something to be aware of as it's not clear on the website.
